Inspiration. Halloween, 1993. The three of us decided to trick or treat this year, in costumes garbed ear to ear. Each adorning a velvet gown, purple, black, and gingerbread brown. Moles in place, boils, and all, we set off at dusk and made an epic haul. Candy corn and chocolate bars, pumpkin truffles, and marshmallow stars. Come midnight, our costumes shed, hurriedly did we prepare for bed. But first, we stored the candy away, to lure the children on a rainy day.
